A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a specific email mailbox will allow you to receive emails that are sent to email addresses that do not actually exist. Otherwise stated, if you deactivate an email address and someone still sends an email message to it, or to any miswritten email address under the very same domain name, you will get the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this functionality means that you won’t miss an email for any reason whatsoever, which could be essential in case you are running a business, for example. Since you may start receiving spam emails, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters in order to get only real emails in your inbox. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting
If you’ve got a website hosting plan with us and you would like to activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox that you’ve got in the account, it will take literally only one click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to achieve that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each and every email address that you have set up under any domain name registered in the account. You can pick one single address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will enable the feature straight away, so all email messages sent to misspelled addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button for a second time will disable the catch-all feature. If you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will show a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you disable the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be set up with several mouse clicks if you have a semi-dedicated hosting plan with us. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-built Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up email addresses with any domain name registered here. To activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you’ll have to click the icon with the same name, which will be to the right of each email address. Deactivating this functionality can be accomplished in the exact same fashion and will not take more than one click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a specific domain name, you’ll receive a warning notification. The same goes if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never replace or deactivate any feature automatically.
